Former Gor Mahia midfielder joins KCB

Former Gor Mahia midfieler Erick 'Cantona' Ochieng has joined National Super League (NSL) side KCB on a one-year deal . The veteran midfielder has been out of action since June 2017 when he parted ways with Kenyan Premier League side, Nakumatt. Promotion He is now back to action with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) FC that will be looking to earn promotion to the Kenyan Premier League this season after narrowly missing out in 2017. The club has also appointed John Kamau as head coach and the former Thika United, Posta Rangers and FC Talanta boss will be hoping for a strong start to 2018 season.

KPL: AFC Leopards in talks with ex Gor Mahia midfielder

  AFC Leopards is closing in on former Gor Mahia midfielder Collins 'Gatusso' Okoth ahead of 2018 Kenyan Premier League season, the club has confirmed . The combative midfielder has been club-less since June 2017 when he was released by Gor Mahia and he could now reunite with coach Robert Matano whom he worked with at Tusker FC in 2012 after Ingwe confirmed that it's in talks with the dimunitive midfielder over a move to the club. Talks -Nothing has been agreed on just yet. He is a player the coach wants and we are talking to him, we hope to reach an agreement soon, chairman Dan Mule told Futaa.com. Gatusso has also played for Sofapaka and Tusker FC.

KPL: Matasi, two new Gor Mahia signings to battle for yet another award

Harambee Stars goalkeeper will be up for another silverware as he has been nominated for The Magharibi Michezo Awards 2017 edition. The Gala will take place on December 23 in Bungoma town. Matasi failed to clinch the SJAK Golden Glove after his opponent from Kariobangi Sharks Jeff Oyemba beat him to the title for clean sheets record in the concluded KPL season. Recent Gor Mahia signings Charles Momanyi from Kakamega Homeboyz and ex Nzoia United midfielder Lawrence Juma wilk battle for the Footballer of The Year Award with the Posta Rangers goalkèeper. AFC Leopards defender Michael Kibwage and Brian Otieno of Nzoia too are also the nominees for the award. Boniface Muchiri is also in the six member nominees. FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES 1. Sofapaka defender joins Gor Mahia

  Gor Mahia has completed another signing roping in Sofapaka defender Wesley Onguso on a three-year deal.  The left-back joined Batoto Ba Mungu in June 2017 but found game time difficult to come by at the Sam Ssimbwa coached side with the Ugandan coach opting to use a makeshift left full back.  He impressed during the recently concluded Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup and has now earned a move to the champions who have been on a spending spree for the last few days. Onguso signs -We have signed Onguso on a three-year deal. He's a Kenyan international and we know he will provide competition in that position. We want to have a very competitive team and that's why we are bolstering all departments, club CEO Lordvick Aduda told Futaa.com. He becomes Gor Mahia's second signing of the day following the arrival of Humphrey Mieno from Tusker FC.

KPL side announces trials date

  KPL side Nakumatt FC has announced dates for players recruitment exercise scheduled to kick off from January 2018. The two-day exercise will kick off on Monday 4 to Tuesday 5, and  be aimed at roping in new players to bolster their ranks ahead of their second season at top flight. 2018 Preps -The Club will be conducting its trials for new players from 4th -5th January 2018 at the City Stadium, with the aim of strengthening its squad and preparations for the 2018 season, an update from the club read. Paradoxically, the  Moneybags , who weathered through trying financial time to finish 15th in the season,  have already lost their talisman Kepha Aswani to Sofapaka. 

AFC Leopards striker set to join Posta Rangers

Kenyan Premier League side, Posta Rangers is set to complete the signing of AFC Leopards forward Marsellus 'Adebayor' Ingotsi after the two clubs reached an agreement over his transfer from the den. Ingotsi has been Leopards senior side for one season after being promoted to from their junior side at the start of 2017 season. He featured mainly as a sub scoring two goals and registering three assists the entire season. He was deemed surplus to requirement by coach Robert Matano and was made available for a loan move but the player is now set to complete a permanent move from the den. Wanted man Posta chairman John Tonui has confirmed that his side is closing in on the lanky forward who was a target of several other Kenyan Premier League clubs. Ulinzi Stars, Wazito, Nzoia Sugar, SoNy Sugar and Kakamega Homeboyz were all reportedly interested in signing the former Kitale Tranfoc hitman. -We have not signed him yet, we are still ironing out a few other issues. Thika confident of a double over Ushuru

Thika United head coach Nicholas Muyoti is elated by the first leg of Kenya Premier League promotion win over Ushuru FC on December 21 at Thika  Sub County Stadium. Thika overpowered the NSL side 2-1 with Onwudi Chibueze and Musa Saad strikes winning the show for Thika. Muoti believes that his charges will be up to task when they play again in the second leg that will be staged at Narok Stadium on December 24. Hassan Mohamed struck the only goal for the Taxmen. Indicator  - Given that we trained for only a day before this match, I am happy that we have won at home and possibly we will finish the job when we face them again at Narok. It was very difficult getting the team back since most of them had gone upcountry for the festive season, Muyoti said after the match. Girona's weekend win over Espanyol saw the team record the joint highest number of points (20) by a La Liga debutant. Survival assured? And with top-flight stay high in their priority the team will be fancying their chances with statistics showing that no team in the last 30 years has suffered relegation after attaining the 20 points haul after fifteen league games. Part of the squad Pablo Machin's side however face a tough task this Thursday 21 December when they travel to rivals, Eibar. Their hosts are on a three game unbeaten run and will be out to test Girona's resurgence. Kenyan Olunga will be hoping to have apart in the clash after making cut in the 18-man match day squad.

Gor Mahia closing in on Mieno

Despite earlier reports linking him with a return to AFC Leopards, Humphrey Mieno is close to sealing a move to champions Gor Mahia days after parting ways with Tusker FC. Leopards was reportedly interested in signing the former Azam and Sofapaka man who left the Den for Tusker in 2015 owing to financial problems that had crippled the club then. Gor were interested in signing the lanky midfielder in June 2016 but were put off by Tusker's exorbitant demands. They will finally land their man this window after he was released by Tusker as part of their rebuilding process after a disastrous 2017 Kenyan Premier League campaign. Finally Mieno  -Mieno is heading to Gor Mahia. A number of clubs including two of his former sides were interested in him but he has chosen Gor, a source from Gor's camp told Futaa.com. Another ex Tusker midfielder Cersidy Okeyo Lumumba is also on Gor's radar.

KPL :Gor Mahia eyeing Zoo defender

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia are courting Zoo FC left-back Isaac Kipyegon ahead of 2018 season, Futaa.com understands .  The speedster who has been with Zoo for couple of years was part of the national team, Harambee Stars that won the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup although he didn't feature in any of the matches.  Gor is looking for a second choice left-back who'll give Ugandan Godfrey Walusimbi competition in that position and have now earmarked Kipyegon for signing. Interested -We hear they are interested in him but they are yet to speak to us over his signing so for now we will treat it as a rumour. He has a contract with us and if Gor are truly interested in him, they know the right channel to follow, a Zoo official told Futaa.com. The club is however open to his departure with a number of replacements being considered to fill the slot should he vacate
