School Of International Cultural Exchange at Lanzhou University in China is inviting applications for the Confucius Institute Scholarship for international students for the 2020/2021 academic session.
For the purpose of cultivating qualified Chinese language teachers and facilitating the promotion of Chinese language and culture, the Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban) launches “Confucius Institute Scholarship” (CIS).
According to the “Rules of Application for Confucius Institute Scholarship 2019”(Rulers), outstanding students and currently employed Chinese language teachers who recommended by Confucius Institutes, independently operated Confucius Classrooms, as well as HSK overseas test centers (recommending institutions), are welcome to study at Lanzhou University (LZU).

Scholarship Coverage
The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides;
- Full coverage on tuition,
- Accommodation,
- Living allowance (four-week study programmes excluded),
- Comprehensive medical insurance expenses.
Scholarship Criteria
- Living allowances granted by host institution on a monthly basis.
- The monthly allowance for BTCSOL, one-academic-year programme and the one-semester program is 2500 CNY /month, for MTCSOL program is 3000 CNY/month.
Eligibility
All applicants must be:
- Non-Chinese citizens
- In good physical and mental condition well performed both academically and behaviorally
- Aspired to take future careers on the teaching or international promotion of Chinese language
- Between the age of 16-35 by September1st, 2019.
- Applicants currently worked as Chinese language teachers shall not exceed the age limit of 45, while undergraduate program shall not exceed the age limit of 25.
How to Apply
To apply for the Confucius Institute Scholarship;
- Applicants need to access the web and apply for a cis ID.
- Applicants shall look for Lanzhou University (LZU) from host institutions and apply for a major or program to complete and submit the application form and other relevant documents online.
- After submitting, please pay attention to the application process and the result.
- LZU will confirm the admission of applicants and go through the procedures of studying in China.
- Scholarship winners shall print the scholarship certificate online and register at LZU the designated date as per admission letter.
Deadline:
- September 20, 2019, for those commencing in December
- November 20, 2019, for those commencing in March 2020
